Hneifat, FAO representative discuss irrigation projects

AMMAN — Agriculture Minister Khaled Hneifat on Sunday met with the representative of the Food and Agriculture Organisation’s (FAO) office in Jordan, Naserdin Elamin, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, Hneifat and Elamin discussed implementing a number of projects related to improving irrigation channels and livestock shearing.
The projects aim to help and support livestock breeders, as well as improve forestation, especially by planting trees along the Desert Highway to benefit from the FAO’s Green Climate Fund, Petra reported.
They also discussed bilateral cooperation between the FAO and Jordan, as well as the Kingdom’s participation in the last FAO conference held recently in Rome, stressing the importance of implementing the proposed programmes and projects in Jordan through the FAO’s Jordan office.
